Goal
Quantum dot detector
Quantum dot is very small (2~10 nm) sized semiconducting nanoparticles showing quantum confinement effect. Quantum dots (QD) are promising semiconductors for optoelectronic devices, including light-emitting diodes, photodetectors, and photovoltaics because of their size dependent bandgap tunability, solution processability, and good air stability. In particular, the size-tunable bandgap of QDs provides an opportunity to harvesting the near infrared (IR) region of solar spectrum, representing a promising strategy to supplement a performance of wide bandgap photovoltaics. Our research interests are development of highly efficient IR QDs, advanced device architectures, and realize toxic materials free QDs etc.
